From a part of Gangotri glacier, I emerge,
And into the Bay of Bengal, I submerge.
Enjoying my childhood, I flow through mountainous beauty,
And in the course of time, I am reminded of my duty;
Now, to serve the farmers I directed myself towards plains.
Unfortunately, to narrate my further story it pains.
Flowing gladly through villages and rural beauties,
Unwillingly, I approached the densly urbanized cities
However, tired and scared I tiptoed into the City
And, now my pity days commenced
As I started losing my purity
It is an irony, that they consider me their holy river
And contaminate me blindly until I tremble with fever
I have lost my chastity and my glories being lost
Often, I curse myself for flowing through the cities of ghosts
Before bidding goodbye, I request them
To stop polluting me in the God's name
Otherwise, it may harm them at a great deal
This is nothing but a short appeal.
