Let me be drowned in aches and drowsiness
Let me to float and dive in Lethe's brook
Alone, and drain away the weariness
In it, that made the basis of me shook.

Behold, this drowsiness, it is a cure
To glooms of running life, and to it's pain
Seraphs of heaven brought it, most pure
For us, to give relief in every strain.

Thou art a blessing for us on the earth,
Whenever death cometh to take the control,
Or when one screams and cries during the birth
Comest to save us thou and mend the soul.

When from a pain or suffering we flee
Who breaks the cage for us it is only thee
