Saint Florent-le-vieil Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCAABBA DEEFEG

The spacious open vale the vale of doomA
Is full of autumn sunset blue and strongB
The semicirque of water sweeps amongC
Her lofty acres each a martyr's tombA
And slowly slowly melt into the gloomA
Two little idling clouds that look for longB
Like roseleaf bodies of two babes in songB
Correggio left to flush a convent roomA
-
Dear hill deflowered in the frantic warD
In my day rather have I seen thee blestE
With pastoral roofs to break the darker crestE
Of apple woods by many isl d LoireF
And fires that still suffuse the lower westE
Blanching the beauty of thine evening starG
