Open, Time Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABAB CACA DEDE FGFH IJIJ KL KL DADA

Open Time and let him passA
Shortly where his feet would beB
Like a leaf at MichaelmasA
Swooning from the treeB
-
Ere its hour the manly mindC
Trembles in a sure decreaseA
Nor the body now can findC
Any hold on peaceA
-
Take him weak and overwornD
Fold about his dying dreamE
Boyhood and the April mornD
And the rolling streamE
-
Weather on a sunny ridgeF
Showery weather far from hereG
Under some deep ivied bridgeF
Water rushing clearH
-
Water quick to cross and partI
Golden light on silver soundJ
Weather that was next his heartI
All the world aroundJ
-
Soon upon his vision breakK
These in their remembered blueL
-
He shall toil no more but wakeK
Young in air he knewL
-
He has done with roofs and menD
Open Time and let him passA
Vague and innocent againD
Into country grassA
