Martyr-s Memorial Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABBAABBACBCBCB

SUCH natural debts of love our Oxford knowsA
So many ancient dues undesecrateB
I marvel how the landmark of a hateB
For witness unto future time she choseA
How out of her corroborate ranks aroseA
The three in great denial only greatB
For Art s enshrining Thus averted straightB
My soul to seek a holier captain goesA
That sweet adventurer whom Truth befellC
When as the synagogues were watching notB
Whose crystal name on royal OrielC
Hangs like a shield who to an outland spotB
Led hence beholds his Star and counts it wellC
Of all his dear domain to live forgotB
