Among The Flags Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: A BCCDDCCD EDDEDD

i In Doric Hall Massachussetts State House iA
-
Dear witnesses all luminous eloquentB
Stacked thickly on the tessellated floorC
The soldier blood stirs in me as of yoreC
In sire and grandsire who to battle wentD
I seem to know the shaded valley tentD
The armed and bearded men the thrill of warC
Horses that prance to hear the cannon roarC
Shrill bugle calls and camp fire merrimentD
-
And as fair symbols of heroic thingsE
Not void of tears mine eyes must e'en beholdD
These banners lovelier as the deeper marredD
A panegyric never writ for kingsE
On every tarnished staff and tattered foldD
And by them tranquil spirits standing guardD
