The Fear Of Burial Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCD EFGH IJKLM

In the empty field in the morningA
the body waits to be claimedB
The spirit sits beside it on a small rockC
nothing comes to give it form againD
-
Think of the body's lonelinessE
At night pacing the sheared fieldF
its shadow buckled tightly aroundG
Such a long journeyH
-
And already the remote trembling lights of the villageI
not pausing for it as they scan the rowsJ
How far away they seemK
the wooden doors the bread and milkL
laid like weights on the tableM
