Rhyme Scheme: ABCCDE FGHIJKLM NOPQRSTNP UVWHH HXGS

A dove lived in a villageA
When it opened its mouthB
sweetness came out soundC
like a silver light aroundC
the cherry bough ButD
the dove wasn't satisfiedE
-
It saw the villagersF
gathered to listen underG
the blossoming treeH
It didn't think II
am higher that they areJ
It wanted to wealk among themK
to experience the violence of human feelingL
in part for its song's sakeM
-
So it became humanN
It found passion it found violenceO
first conflated thenP
as separate emotionsQ
and these were notR
contained by music ThusS
its song changedT
the sweet notes of its longing to become humanN
soured and flattened ThenP
-
the world drew back the mutantU
fell from loveV
as from the cherry branchW
it fell stained with the bloodyH
fruit of the treeH
-
So it is true after all not merelyH
a rule of artX
change your form and you change your natureG
And time does this to usS
