The Mother Moon Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCBDEFEGHIJ KACALEAEMHNH

THE moon upon the wide seaA
Placidly looks downB
Smiling with her mild faceC
Though the ocean frownB
Clouds may dim her brightnessD
But soon they pass awayE
And she shines out unalteredF
O'er the little waves at playE
So 'mid the storm or sunshineG
Wherever she may goH
Led on by her hidden powerI
The wild see must plowJ
-
As the tranquil evening moonK
Looks on that restless seaA
So a mother's gentle faceC
Little child is watching theeA
Then banish every tempestL
Chase all your clouds awayE
That smoothly and brightlyA
Your quiet heart may playE
Let cheerful looks and actionsM
Like shining ripples flowH
Following the mother's voiceN
Singing as they goH
