My Doves Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCBDEDE DDDDFGHA IJKJLMDN DMDMIAOA KPHQDDDD

OPPOSITE my chamber windowA
On the sunny roof at playB
High above the city's tumultC
Flocks of doves sit day by dayB
Shining necks and snowy bosomsD
Little rosy tripping feetE
Twinkling eyes and fluttering wingsD
Cooing voices low and sweetE
-
Graceful games and friendly meetingsD
Do I daily watch and seeD
For these happy little neighborsD
Always seem at peace to beD
On my window ledge to lure themF
Crumbs of bread I often strewG
And behind the curtain hidingH
Watch them flutter to and froA
-
Soon they cease to fear the giverI
Quick are they to feel my loveJ
And my alms are freely takenK
By the shyest little doveJ
In soft flight they circle downwardL
Peep in through the window paneM
Stretch their gleaming necks to greet meD
Peck and coo and come againN
-
Faithful little friends and neighborsD
For no wintry wind or rainM
Household cares or airy pastimesD
Can my loving birds restrainM
Other friends forget or lingerI
But each day I surely knowA
That my doves will come and leave hereO
Little footprints in the snowA
-
So they teach me the sweet lessonK
That the humblest may giveP
Help and hope and in so doingH
Learn the truth by which we liveQ
For the heart that freely scattersD
Simple charities and lovesD
Lures home content and joy and peaceD
Like a soft winged flock of dovesD
