Lullaby Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AABCCB DDBEEB FFBGGB CCBHHB

Now the day is doneA
Now the shepherd sunA
Drives his white flocks from the skyB
Now the flowers restC
On their mother's breastC
Hushed by her low lullabyB
-
Now the glowworms glanceD
Now the fireflies danceD
Under fern boughs green and highB
And the western breezeE
To the forest treesE
Chants a tuneful lullabyB
-
Now 'mid shadows deepF
Falls blessed sleepF
Like dew from the summer skyB
And the whole earth dreamsG
In the moon's soft beamsG
While night breathes a lullabyB
-
Now birdlings restC
In your wind rocked nestC
Unscared by the owl's shrill cryB
For with folded wingsH
Little Brier swingsH
And singeth your lullabyB
