Fairy Song Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCBDEFE GHIHJEKE JLMLKENE KOPOHEQE

The moonlight fades from flower and roseA
And the stars dim one by oneB
The tale is told the song is sungC
And the Fairy feast is doneB
The night wind rocks the sleeping flowersD
And sings to them soft and lowE
The early birds erelong will wakeF
'T is time for the Elves to goE
-
O'er the sleeping earth we silently passG
Unseen by mortal eyeH
And send sweet dreams as we lightly floatI
Through the quiet moonlit skyH
For the stars' soft eyes alone may seeJ
And the flowers alone may knowE
The feasts we hold the tales we tellK
So't is time for the Elves to goE
-
From bird and blossom and beeJ
We learn the lessons they teachL
And seek by kindly deeds to winM
A loving friend in eachL
And though unseen on earth we dwellK
Sweet voices whisper lowE
And gentle hearts most joyously greetN
The Elves where'er they goE
-
When next we meet in the Fairy dellK
May the silver moon's soft lightO
Shine then on faces gay as nowP
And Elfin hearts as lightO
Now spread each wing for the eastern skyH
With sunlight soon shall glowE
The morning star shall light us homeQ
Farewell for the Elves must goE
