A Song From The Suds Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABABAB CDEDFD GHIHDH JDKDL

Queen of my tub I merrily singA
While the white foam raises highB
And sturdily wash and rinse and wringA
And fasten the clothes to dryB
Then out in the free fresh air they swingA
Under the sunny skyB
-
I wish we could wash from our hearts and our soulsC
The stains of the week awayD
And let water and air by their magic makeE
Ourselves as pure as theyD
Then on the earth there would be indeedF
A glorious washing dayD
-
Along the path of a useful lifeG
Will heart's ease ever bloomH
The busy mind has no time to thinkI
Of sorrow or care or gloomH
And anxious thoughts may be swept awayD
As we busily wield a broomH
-
I am glad a task to me is givenJ
To labor at day by dayD
For it brings me health and strength and hopeK
And I cheerfully learn to sayD
'Head you may think heart you may feelL
But hand you shall work always '-
