The Sunlight On The Garden Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCBBA DEFEED GDHDDG AIJIIA

The sunlight on the gardenA
Hardens and grows coldB
We cannot cage the minuteC
Within its nets of goldB
When all is toldB
We cannot beg for pardonA
-
Our freedom as free lancesD
Advances towards its endE
The earth compels upon itF
Sonnets and birds descendE
And soon my friendE
We shall have no time for dancesD
-
The sky was good for flyingG
Defying the church bellsD
And every evil ironH
Siren and what it tellsD
The earth compelsD
We are dying Egypt dyingG
-
And not expecting pardonA
Hardened in heart anewI
But glad to have sat underJ
Thunder and rain with youI
And grateful tooI
For sunlight on the gardenA

Christina: Poignant images and rhythm every line weaving it’s path inside bringing every breath to slow.
