The Green River Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis
Rhyme Scheme: ABBAABBACAACAA| I know a green grass path that leaves the field | A |
| And like a running river winds along | B |
| Into a leafy wood where is no throng | B |
| Of birds at noon day and no soft throats yield | A |
| Their music to the moon The place is sealed | A |
| An unclaimed sovereignty of voiceless song | B |
| And all the unravished silences belong | B |
| To some sweet singer lost or unrevealed | A |
| So is my soul become a silent place | C |
| Oh may I wake from this uneasy night | A |
| To find a voice of music manifold | A |
| Let it be shape of sorrow with wan face | C |
| Or Love that swoons on sleep or else delight | A |
| That is as wide eyed as a marigold | A |
