In Memoriam : Francis Archibald Douglas Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABBACBB ADEFDEF

Dear friend dear brother I have owed you thisA
Since many days the tribute of a songB
Shall I cheat you who never did a wrongB
To any man No therefore though I missA
All art all skill in this short armisticeC
From my soul's war against the bitter throngB
Of present woes let these poor lines be strongB
-
In love enough to bear a brother's kissA
Dear saint true knight I cannot weep for youD
Nor if I could would I call back the breathE
To your dear body God is very wiseF
All that this year had in its womb He knewD
And loving you He sent His Son like DeathE
To put His hand over your kind gray eyesF
