The Woman With Jewels Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCDEFGHIJ KLM LNOOFOOOLOPQ

The woman with jewels sits in the cafeA
Spraying light like a fountainB
Diamonds glitter on her bulbous fingersC
And on her arms great as thighsD
Diamonds gush from her ear lobes over the goitrous throatE
She is obesely beautifulF
Her eyes are full of bleared lightsG
Like little pools of tar spilled by a sailor in mad haste for shoreH
And her mouth is scarlet and full only a little crumpledI
like a flower that has been pressed apartJ
-
Why does she come alone to this obscure basementK
She who should have a litter and hand maidens to support herL
on either sideM
-
She ascends the stairway and the waiters turn to look at herL
spilling the soupN
The black satin dress is a little lifted showing the dropsical legsO
in their silken fleshingsO
The mountainous breasts trembleF
There is an agitation in her gemsO
That quiver incessantly emitting trillions of fiery raysO
She erupts explosive breathsO
Every step is an adventureL
From thisO
The serpent's toothP
Saved CleopatraQ
