The Foundling Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCDBEFGHI JKLKKM NODPQM

Snow wraiths circle usA
Like washers of the deadB
Flapping their white wet clothsC
ImpatientlyD
About the grizzled headB
Where the coarse hair mats like grassE
And the efficient windF
With cold professional basteG
Probes like a lancetH
Through the cotton shirtI
-
About us are white cliffs and spaceJ
No fa ccedil ades showK
Nor roof nor any spireL
All sheathed in snowK
The parasitic snowK
That clings about them like a blightM
-
Only detached lightsN
Float hazily like greenish moonsO
And endlesslyD
Down the whore streetP
Accouched and comforted and sleeping warmQ
The blizzard waltzes with the nightM
