Promenade Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCADAAEFGHIAJKLAK AALAAMNAOAP

Undulant rustlingsA
Of oncoming silkB
Rhythmic incessantC
Like the motion of leavesA
Fragments of colorD
In glowing surprisesA
Pink inuendoesA
Hooded in grayE
Like buds in a cobwebF
Pearled at dawnG
Glimpses of greenH
And blurs of goldI
And delicate mauvesA
That snatch at youthJ
And bodies all rosilyK
Fleshed for the airingL
In warm velvety surgesA
Passing imperious slowK
-
Women drift into the limousinesA
That shut like silken casketsA
On gems half weary of their glitteringL
Lamps open like pale moon flowersA
Arcs are radiant opalsA
Strewn along the duskM
No common lights invadeN
And spires rise like litaniesA
Magnificats of stoneO
Over the white silence of the arcsA
Burning in perpetual adorationP
