Iron Wine Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABBCBBDEFGBH

The ore in the crucible is pungent smelling like acrid wineA
It is dusky red like the ebb of poppiesB
And purple like the blood of elderberriesB
Surely it is a strong wine juice distilled of the fierce ironC
I am drunk of its fumesB
I feel its fiery fluxB
Diffusing permeatingD
Working some strange alchemyE
So that I turn aside from the goodly boardF
So that I look askance upon the common cupG
And from the mouths of cruciblesB
Suck forth the acrid sapH
