Dedication Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCD EFGHIFJK LMNONCM

I would be a torch unto your handA
A lamp upon your forehead LaborB
In the wild darkness before the DawnC
That I shall never seeD
-
We shall advance together my BelovedE
Awaiting the mighty usheringF
Together we shall make the last grand chargeG
And ride with gorgeous DeathH
With all her spangles onI
And cymbals clashingF
And you shall rush on exultant as I fallJ
Scattering a brief fire about your feetK
-
Let it be soL
Better while life is quickM
And every pain immense and joy supremeN
And all I have and amO
Flames upward to the dreamN
Than like a taper forgotten in the dawnC
Burning out the wickM
