The Voice Of The Lobster Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCCDDEB FFGGHHII

''Tis the voice of the Lobster I heard him declareA
'You have baked me too brown I must sugar my hair 'B
As a duck with its eyelids so he with his noseC
Trims his belt and his buttons and turns out his toesC
When the sands are all dry he is gay as a larkD
And will talk in contemptuous tones of the SharkD
But when the tide rises and sharks are aroundE
His voice has a timid and tremulous sound 'B
-
'I passed by his garden and marked with one eyeF
How the Owl and the Panter were sharing a pieF
The Panther took pie crust and gravy and meatG
While the Old had the dish as its share of the treatG
When the pie was all finished the Owl as a boonH
Was kindly permitted to pocket the spoonH
While the Panther received knife and fork with a growlI
And concluded the banquet by eating the owlI
