These Men Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABABCDCD EFEF

Men moving in a trench in the clear noonA
Whetting their steel within the crumbling earthB
Men moving in a trench neath a new moonA
That smiles with a slit mouth and has no mirthB
Men moving in a trench in the grey mornC
Lifting bodies on their clotted framesD
Men with narrow mouths thin carved in scornC
That twist and fumble strangely at dead namesD
-
These men know life know death a little moreE
These men see paths and ends and seeF
Beyond some swinging open doorE
Into eternityF
