Of streets nor dreamed him ever one of these | A |
So wistfully he mused so shyly proud | B |
So chalk besmeared he walked his weary pace | C |
A space went and on an early day | D |
Within the trench I saw a half known face | C |
Awake with wonder a child lived heart at play | D |
With dreamed romance a Drake keen eye ashine | E |
For newer worlds A thunder tore the line | E |
A shell burst He smiled as Sidney smiled | F |
And fell There came the crying of a child | F |
A wave of little hands a soft breeze | A |
