The Teacher Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: A BABCDCDEEFFA A

A Cross is slanting tween two withered treesA
-
I saw him first in peace amid a crowdB
Of streets nor dreamed him ever one of theseA
So wistfully he mused so shyly proudB
So chalk besmeared he walked his weary paceC
A space went and on an early dayD
Within the trench I saw a half known faceC
Awake with wonder a child lived heart at playD
With dreamed romance a Drake keen eye ashineE
For newer worlds A thunder tore the lineE
A shell burst He smiled as Sidney smiledF
And fell There came the crying of a childF
A wave of little hands a soft breezeA
-
The cross is slanting tween two withered treesA
