The Husband Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis
Rhyme Scheme: ABABCDCDEFEFGG| Yes I have slain and taken moving life | A |
| From bodies Yea And laughed upon the taking | B |
| And having slain have whetted still the knife | A |
| For more and more and heeded not the making | B |
| Of things that I was killing Such 'twas then | C |
| But now the thirst so hideous has left me | D |
| I live within a coolness among calm men | C |
| And yet am strange A something has bereft me | D |
| Of a seeing and strangely love returns | E |
| And old desires half known and hanging sorrows | F |
| I seem agaze with wonder Memory burns | E |
| I see a thousand vague and sad tomorrows | F |
| None sees my sadness No one understands | G |
| How I must touch her hair with bloody hands | G |
