The Epileptic Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis
Rhyme Scheme: ABABCCDEDEBFBF| His splendid heart is set within a frame | A |
| Of manly massiveness and giant limbs | B |
| And strong to move he helps the maimed and the lame | A |
| While his pride of strength the laugher brims | B |
| His eyes and spreads He heaves his might chest | C |
| In mirth at every feeble joke and jest | C |
| But sometimes in the height of joy he ll start | D |
| Pale cheeked as though within his ear he heard | E |
| Some shocking whisper calling at this heart | D |
| And knew the call and trembled at its word | E |
| And so he passes into horridness | B |
| Within the claw of some hot fiend of prey | F |
| And fights with blinded hands and pitiless | B |
| Till back again he lisps his dreary way | F |
