Sights Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABAB CDCE FGHG

I saw a singer singing to a crowdA
Singing of laughing life and all the whileB
He sang in tones so shrilly loudA
Not one man had a smileB
-
I saw a fiddler from a broken plainC
Playing his weeping fiddle sweet and clearD
He sang of Death and Cries and PainC
But no one shed a tearE
-
I saw a whistling soldier still and wanF
Firing his rifle from a fearful placeG
But all the time a dying manH
Looked long upon his faceG
