Lemnos Visited Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABABCDCDEFEFGG

Oh Peace The Peace I knew I thought thee deadA
And had not hoped again to see thy smileB
I deemed thee dead but thou hadst only fledA
And his they face within a Grecian isleB
The sun that rises in the early mornC
Now gilds these purple hills with golden lightD
The land of Lemnos hath not felt the thornC
Of thoughtless war It hath a calm delightD
In waving fields a lazy grinding millE
In winding shores a drowsy lapping seaF
A humble church upon a dreaming hillE
A sleeping silence and a home for theeF
But let us not molest the bloodless reignG
Lest fields of flowers change to fields of painG
