Acceptance Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCABC DEFGEH IJKILK

Beside the doors of a keen lighted hallA
I paused and quite by chanceB
I noticed LoveC
Smiling and tallA
And then I heard the whirling danceB
And saw the dismal skies aboveC
-
She called to me to know her yet againD
And know her pale sad friendE
Solemn with tearsF
Her friend was PainG
I moved away but in the endE
Returned fearing the empty yearsH
-
And I who thought to scoff and had so plannedI
I took Love s fevered armJ
And felt Pain s breathK
I took Love s handI
And kissed its shining palmL
And saw beyond the silent face of DeathK
