But Satan's words like honey spun | D |
Lit Adam's lustful mortal fire | F |

So took disobedience its hold | G |
And quickly sin came rushing in | H |
As man with pride and greed untold | G |
Embraced so vile a forbidden sin | H |

So let us now from Adam's fate | I |
Give heed to our creator's voice | J |
Lest we like him succumb to hate | I |
And make the gravest wrong our choice | J |

As worldly lusts engender pride | K |
And man's angsty desires aspire | E |
We preach our own gospel aside | K |
From our Christ's divine inspire | E |

For truthless gains we exploit the flock | L |
Whom we should feed with loving care | C |
As Ezekiel's words like a shock | L |
Remind us to indeed beware | C |

And seek the gospel's righteous way | N |
For in obedience lies the fame | M |
That shines with all heavenly ray | N |
