IF I WAS A MAN
I'd fall in love with your soul
Your elegance
Your beauty
I'd fall in love with you're spirit
If I was courageous a man
I'd fall for this girl for healing
From her face the humour and the power to unclog the brassy veins within me
If only boldness fuelled me - as a man
I'd take a knee to submit my stiff, inept, clumsy and dull heart to you
I'd choose to live in the well designed by your love I'd employ for you to nurse my soul and maybe allow me to breathe this fresh air in your paradise
I'd learn the beauty of your mind
Latch on to your patience unparalleled
To create a heaven so perfect only for you
If I was a man
A strong man
I'd learn your art in poetry
I'd make you my muse
And paint your perfect sculpture on my canvas
If only my body was sculpted with a mould of a man
I'd commit to you
Because in you I would've found my home
Though I'd be selfish with you
Just so the cords connecting our souls
May never be polluted
And my love for you can forever burn

Poet's note: In her eyes, she sees a beautiful soul. In the mirror she recognises a man submitting to her for his own healing and happiness.
