The Long War For Peace Day Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCD EFGHHH

Less passionate the long war throwsA
its burning thorn about all menB
caught in one grief we share one woundC
and cry one dialect of painD
-
We have forgot who fired the houseE
Whose easy mischief spilled first bloodF
Under one raging roof we lieG
The fault no longer understoodH
But as our twisted arms embrace the desert where our cities stoodH
Death's family likeness in each face must show at last our brotherhoodH
