The Unjust Knife Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AABCCDEFBGHAIJKALJM

There seasonA
A century old traditionA
Has taken toll on themB
Deprived them of their pride and privacyC
Though conducted in secrecyC
In the chilling wee hours of the dayD
The moment of pain and distressE
Transforms them to fitF
Into a society so unfair to themB
Their cries are swallowedG
By the inconsiderate wolvesH
Determined to support an archaic traditionA
While they fight backI
their efforts are thwartedJ
And legs held apartK
By friendly old womenA
who clinically execute the actL
Giving spirits a share of the girls' bloodJ
To seal forbidden covenantM
