Odysseus' Fate Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCDEFGHIJKL

Through horrors of land and horrors of seaA
Bereft and wandering OdysseusB
God fearing wretch sought IthacaC
Unfaltering he plunged into the gloom of HadesD
The roar of fierce Charybdis and underwater Scylla's groansE
Shook not his noble soulF
His patience vanquished cruel fate it seemedG
And to the dregs he'd drunk the bitter cupH
It seemed the heav'ns were done with testing himI
And drove him softly slumberingJ
To homeland's longed for cliffsK
He waked what then He did not know his homeL
