The Devil In Me Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCDEEF GHIFJF KLMNOPF F

Not a single day livedA
Without wishing I was differentB
The things I hate to do are the thingsC
I easily find myself doingD
And The things I love to doE
are the things I barely doE
This devil in me O this devil in meF
-
I am one person in my imaginationG
But in reality I am anotherH
The more I try to break thy shacklesI
That have held me captive and set myself freeF
the more I get myself more entangled in thy webJ
This devil in me O this devil in meF
-
When will thy days over like the days of NoahK
So that I can be set free of thy bondageL
When will the discourse of my own lifeM
Be determined by my own selfN
So that I can walk in the lane of my interestO
When will thee cease clouding my life with thy enigma so I can be free like a bird in the skyP
This devil in me O this devil in meF

Poet's note: It's really amazing how convenient it is for us to indulge in sinful acts but when it comes to doing what is good, we find it very difficult if not impossible to do. Maybe, there's a spiritual connotation to that.
