Taoist Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCDCAEFGHGEIJKLMINO PIPN

THOSE friends of Lao Tzu those wise old menA
Dozing all day in lemon silken robesB
With tomes of beaten jade spread knee to kneeC
And pipe stem shining cold with silver poisedD
In steaming play and still a finger freeC
To dog the path of some forgotten penA
Almost their bee sweet ancient words inclineE
My mind to those old pagan ways belovedF
By mandarins and mages now but dustG
In drowsy pyramids What creed is thisH
Save that which those philosophers discussedG
In gold pavilions over musky wineE
'Repenting always of forgotten wrongsI
Will never bring thy heart to rest for thoughtJ
Repairs no whit of evil rather castK
Thy meditations in that utter voidL
To which all human deeds resolve at last 'M
So runs the burden of their thousand songsI
Here in this dark Star Chamber of the soulN
You stand arraigned O slayer of my heartO
But I am tired of hoarding up the gristP
Of anger and remember Lao TzuI
Revenge is empty to the TaoistP
And tears of penitence a futile tollN
