| In old engagements no one quite believes | C |
| Or understands Talbingo had its blood | D |
| As they did ran with waters huge and clear | E |
| Lopping down mountains | F |
| Turning crags to banks | G |
| Now it's a sort of aching valley | H |
| Basalt shaggy with scales | I |
| A funnel of tobacco coloured clay | J |
| Smoulders of puffed earth | K |
| And pebbles and shell bodied flies | L |
| And water thickening to stone in pocks | M |
| That's what we're like out here | N |
| Beds of dried up passions | F |
