Talbingo Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis
Rhyme Scheme: ABCDEFGHIJKLMNF'TALBINGO RIVER' as one says of bones | A |
'Captain' or 'Commodore' that smelt gunpowder | B |
In old engagements no one quite believes | C |
Or understands Talbingo had its blood | D |
As they did ran with waters huge and clear | E |
Lopping down mountains | F |
Turning crags to banks | G |
Now it's a sort of aching valley | H |
Basalt shaggy with scales | I |
A funnel of tobacco coloured clay | J |
Smoulders of puffed earth | K |
And pebbles and shell bodied flies | L |
And water thickening to stone in pocks | M |
That's what we're like out here | N |
Beds of dried up passions | F |
