Full Orchestra Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis
Rhyme Scheme: ABBACDDCEFFEFEMY words are the poor footmen of your pride | A |
Of what you cry you trumpets each to each | B |
With mouths of air my speech is the dog speech | B |
Of yours the Roman tongue but mine is tied | A |
By harsher bridles dumb with breath and bone | C |
Vainly it mocks the dingo strings the stops | D |
The pear tree flying in the flute with drops | D |
Of music quenched and scattered by your own | C |
So serving men who run all night with wine | E |
And whet their ears and crouch upon the floor | F |
Sigh broken words no man has heard before | F |
Or since but ravished in the candleshine | E |
Between the push and shutting of a door | F |
From the great table where their masters dine | E |
