| The common man prays for his family daily | C |
| From any hurt harm or danger | E |
| That's what the common man does | F |

| The common loves his wife and kids | G |
| Holding things together everyday | H |
| The common man works sunrise to sunset | I |
| Does what he can in every way | H |
| The common man is peaceable to his fellow man | J |
| Not in war with his neighbor | E |
| Being the kind of man who loves | K |
| Yeah that's what the common man does | F |

| The common man believes in God | L |
| And all His wondrous things He do | M |
| Prays with his family daily | C |
| He tries to be true | M |
| True to his family and his God | L |
| That's common man as you see | C |
| And that's what he does | F |

| I guess you can see my point of view | M |
| Then clearly understand | N |
