| Those blues and reds are broken apart | B |
| But there s a river of trouble that is right in the middle | C |
| A stream of blood flowing and pouring out from the dust of the earth | D |

| The shedder dreams of what was once there | E |
| They are now just photos that are black and white | F |
| Looking bleak for a future that we are looking forward too | G |
| And noises drowning out the sounds we hear now made us deaf | H |
| But the darkness is out dancing while the light dims | I |

| Give me your hand and let me lead you | G |
| To a better way of living | J |
| Let me touch your soul | K |
| As a way of giving | J |
| Yourself to the cause of right | F |
| To fight what is wrong | L |
| Instead of what s right | F |

| There s a grey line in the middle | C |

| There are mothers in the streets | O |
| Protesting for a wrong turned upside down | P |
| While there s a force out there | E |
| Who wants to tear up and tear down | P |
| The very fabric of justice we try to keep | Q |
| But the nation remains divided | R |

| Hungry people everywhere | E |
| Looking for someone to eat | S |
| While the government puts a no vacancy sign | T |
| On their ivory towers and those who looks down on them | U |
| Like we don t belong | L |
| But treat us wrong | L |
| While we crawl on our bellies hungry | A |
| Looking for something to eat | S |

| Who am I to get an attitude | V |
| When my woman burnt up my food | V |
| While the cost of living picks our pockets clean | W |
| While there are some who blows their noses with hundred dollar bills | X |
| Then disregard them for the next sucker to pick it up | Y |

| I look above my head | Z |
| And this is what I see | A |
| Buzzards flying over me to pick my dry bones | A2 |
| As I lay helpless | B2 |

| And while a nation is pulled apart | B |
| Torn asunder with no care and no regrets | C2 |

| Now meanwhile a nation watches Mr Smith slaps a Rock | D2 |
| For being funny ha ha | E2 |
| About his lady s looks | F2 |
| Then again still torn apart | B |
| As a nation rocks and weaves from that punch in the gut | G2 |

| Separated by culture | I2 |
| Separated by political affiliation | J2 |
| And now separated to be separated to be separated | R |
