Across The Red Sky Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCDEFGAHGI

Across the red sky two birds flyingA
Flying with drooping wingsB
Silent and solitary their ominous flightC
All day the triumphant sun with yellow bannersD
Warred and warred with the earth and when she yieldedE
Stabbed her heart gathered her blood in a chaliceF
Spilling it over the evening skyG
When the dark plumaged birds go flying flyingA
Quiet lies the earth wrapt in her mournful shadowH
Her sightless eyes turned to the red skyG
And the restlessly seeking birdsI
