A Little Girl's Prayer Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCB DEEE FGHG IJEJ EKIK

Grant me the moment the lovely momentA
That I may lean forth to seeB
The other buds the other bloomsC
The other leaves on the treeB
-
That I may take into my bosomD
The breeze that is like his brotherE
But stiller lighter whose faint laughterE
Exhoes the joy of the otherE
-
Above on the blue and white cloud spacesF
There are small clouds at playG
I watch their remote mysterious play timeH
In the other far awayG
-
Grant I may hear the small birds singingI
the song that the silence knowsJ
The Light and the Shadow whisper togetherE
The lovely moment growsJ
-
Ripples into the air like waterE
Away and away without soundK
And the little girl gets up from her prayingI
On the cold groundK
