The Test Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABAB CDCD EFEG BHBI JKLM NONO

Love has moods and I am coldA
Very cold ofttimes to TheeB
Fain to slip from Thy dear holdA
To my follies and be freeB
-
Yet I love Thou knowest allC
I am Thine in heat and chillD
Thou Thou hast my heart in thrallC
All my life and all my willD
-
Thou Immortal Lover sureE
Knowest the way that lovers haveF
Now so cold afraid unsureE
Now afire with love and braveG
-
If I loved less it might beB
That the way was smoother lessH
Of the heavenly joys for meB
And the cast down bitternessI
-
I am cold be that Love's proofJ
And I burn the proof againK
I would not be smooth but roughL
Lest the smoother love should waneM
-
Give me earth or Heaven and yetN
If it is Love's test to swingO
'Twixt the earth and Heaven still setN
I I ask no other thingO
