The Promise Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AABC DDEF GGHI JKAA

To you and you it shall be givenA
As unto Mary her lost HeavenA
Her Son and your son comeB
Alive out of the grave and gloomC
-
Like hers your bliss is pre ordainedD
To see the wounds healed and unstainedD
Yea you shall kiss with herE
Where the sharp blade hath left no scarF
-
They shall come in warm to your coldG
Dropped arms that found naught to enfoldG
And on your heart be laidH
The young the beloved thorn crowned headI
-
Sudden some dawning or some eveJ
Your dead son shall come in aliveK
As once came Mary's SonA
The lost the incredible Heaven be wonA
