The Great Mercy Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AA BB CC DE FF GG HH II JK AA

Betwixt the saddle and the groundA
Was mercy sought and mercy foundA
-
Yea in the twinkling of an eyeB
He cried and Thou hast heard his cryB
-
Between the bullet and its markC
Thy face made morning in his darkC
-
And while the shell sang on its pathD
Thou hast run Thou hast run preventing deathE
-
Thou hast run before and reached the goalF
Gathered to Thee the unhoused soulF
-
Thou art not bound by Time or SpaceG
So fast Death runs Thou hast won the raceG
-
Thou hast said to beaten Death Go tellH
Of victories thou once hadst All's wellH
-
Death here none die but thee and SinI
Now the great days of Life beginI
-
And to the Soul This day I riseJ
And thee with Me to ParadiseK
-
Betwixt the saddle and the groundA
Was Mercy sought and Mercy foundA
