Speeding Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: A BBCC BBDD EEFF GGHH

To Ivo Alan Charteris October thA
-
Requiescat is not my biddingB
That is the weary man's right speedingB
You O Child full of life and laughterC
Joy to you now and long days hereafterC
-
Light of foot ever running and leapingB
Who would tether your feet to sleepingB
Who would stretch you on a sad bedD
A flying light was your golden headD
-
Many a game and a goal be givenE
To you in the playing fields of HeavenE
Be as you were a light shape of joyF
Glad in the strength and the grace of a boyF
-
Dear and young here's the prayer I pray for youG
Heaven be full of new life and play for youG
Swift as an arrow light as a swallowH
So may we find you boy when we followH
