To you and you and you who have givenA
Two sons for England's sake what wordB
Oh there is weeping heard in HeavenA
And Mary's heart has the Eighth SwordC
-
-
Henceforth as you go through the townD
The folk who see you go and comeE
Will doff their hats to your renownD
With Salvete flores MartyrumE
-
-
O chosen from all women and menF
For that high lonely destinyG
Now that we look at you 'tis plainH
God set a mark to know you byI
-
-
Your cross was growing in the treeG
Before the golden world was madeJ
Your martyr's palms began to beG
Before 'Let there be Light' was saidK
-
-
And still where'er you come and goL
The world's the lighter for your loadM
Who thinks on common things and lowL
When your high sorrow takes the roadM
-
-
O predestined and pre electN
'Tis you must bear the glorious scarsO
Stand up dear Saints white and erectN
The wounded in the heavenly warsP
-
-
Beloved afflicted marked for graceQ
God's folk who watch you go and comeE
Call leaning from their Paradise placeQ
-
Salvete flores MartyrumE
