Rhyme Scheme: AA BB CD EE FF GG HH II JK LL MM BB BB MM

THOU who guidest the swallow and wrenA
Keep the paths of the flying menA
-
Over the mountains over the seasB
Thou hast given the bird folk compassesB
-
Thou guidest them yea Thou leadest them homeC
By the trackless ways and the venturesomeD
-
Look Thou then on these bird men farE
More than the sparrows and swallows areE
-
When they fly in the wintry weatherF
Be their compass and chart togetherF
-
Keep them riding the wind UpholdG
Their passion of flight lest it grow coldG
-
Thy right hand be under the wingH
Thy left hand for their steadyingH
-
The Wings of the birds of Heaven be nighI
Lest their wings fail them and they dieI
-
Make Thou their flying as deft and fleetJ
As the flight of the linnet or the blue titK
-
Thy hand over them shall they fearL
The spears of lightning or any spearL
-
Thy hand under them what shall appalM
Not the fierce foe nor the sudden fallM
-
Show them Thy moon at night Thy starsB
Bid stand as sentinels in their warsB
-
Yea make their lone tracks pleasant asB
A soft meandering path in grassB
-
Thou that launchest the wren the swallowM
Guard our flying loves when they followM
