Emptiness Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCD EFEF GHGH IJKJ LMLM

Where there is nothing God comes inA
The Very God has room enoughB
In the poor heart that's stripped so cleanC
Of earth and all the joys thereofD
-
I looked for shadow and the nightE
When Death had taken her Love awayF
But for the darkness there was lightE
And for the night clear floods of dayF
-
Great light that filled it to the brimG
And overflowed and spilt aroundH
Flowing from Him pulsing from HimG
And all the heart was holy groundH
-
The earth the heavens cannot containI
Our God nor any starry placeJ
But He who takes delight with menK
Bounds Him within a narrow spaceJ
-
And where her poor heart bleeds and breaksL
Because her dearest Love is deadM
The Lord of Life comes in and takesL
Warm to His arms the piteous headM
