Blessings Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABAB CDCD EFGF HIHI JKLK

God bless the little orchard brownA
Where the sap stirs these quickening daysB
Soon in a white and rosy gownA
The trees will give great praiseB
-
God knows I have it in my mindC
The white house with the golden eavesD
God knows since it is left behindC
That something grieves and grievesD
-
God keep the small house in his careE
The garden bordered all in boxF
Where primulas and wallflowers areG
And crocuses in flocksF
-
God keep the little rooms that opeH
One to another swathed in greenI
Where honeysuckle lifts her cupH
With jessamine betweenI
-
God bless the quiet old grey headJ
That dreams beside the fire of meK
And makes home there for me indeedL
Over the Irish SeaK
